Today is #GivingTuesday and the last day of our fundraising campaign! Giving Tuesday is a movement to create a national day of giving to kick off the giving season added to the calendar on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving, Black Friday and Cyber Monday. We have one last push to raise our goal by midnight, 12/2.
Collecting #myAWaward videos from alumni and friends of the program has been an absolute joy for us here at the Alliance. Every day, we learn more about the reach and impact of the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards! We’ve been humbled and inspired to work even harder and find more creative teens. And now you’re totally inspired too. Yes. You. You with the Gold Key pin. A certificate. The memory of you becoming suddenly and inextricably changed. Read More

For the first time, we are launching an online annual appeal to raise support for the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards through Crowdrise. We are setting a big $50,000 goal and need your help to reach the top by December 2! In October, we called out to alumni and friends of the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards to submit a short video sharing: what did your Scholastic Art & Writing Award mean to you as a teenager? or, why are the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards important to teenagers?
While most of us are preparing for the end of the year, students nationwide are racing to meet Scholastic Art & Writing Awards’ deadlines, submitting hundreds of thousands of original art and writing. At our peak, the Awards will receive over 6,000 entries a day.
The Awards has grown since it began in 1923, but the criteria remain the same – originality, technical skill, and the emergence of a personal voice. Together, through schools across the country, we have inspired millions of teens to create. Over our 90 year history, the Awards have become the nation’s highest honor for creative teens. Today, winners earn over $8 million in scholarships annually.
