So it was a given that we would have to bring it back for National Events 2015! hashtagThe 2014 National Events kicked off with the Scholastic Awards and the Hive Learning Network NYC’s Maker Prom, where we saw you dancing, creating and meeting new friends! Friday, June 6 we honored you at the world-famous Carnegie Hall in the electrifying National Ceremony with guests Nick Cannon, David Strathairn, Zac Posen, and 2014 Alumni Achievement Award honoree Kay WalkingStick. We ended the celebration with the Saturday Student Showcase at the Art.Write.Now National Exhibition where you read your work, listened to our Portfolio Medalists talk about their process and inspiration, along with a day full of activities and the Gold Medal art and writing created by our talented 2014 National Medalists.

Of course, we cannot forget about our partnership with Colossal Media, who hand painted a 6 story mural of Steven Paul’s 2014 Gold Medal photograph, Lost Time. You can still see the #AWawards billboard at 111 Broadway in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.

You can also catch the Art.Write.Now National Exhibition at the Sheila C. Johnson Design Center at Parsons The New School for Design and the Pratt Institute’s Pratt Manhattan Gallery through June 14!
