This month, we shine the spotlight on the Spring Hill Art Center, which manages the Natchez Trace Art Region and the Natchez Trace Writing Region of the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. Here’s what the Spring Hill Art Center had to say about Awards activity in their region:

The Spring Hill Arts Center (SHAC) is very excited for their first year as an Affiliate Partner for the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. SHAC manages the Natchez Trace Arts Region and the Natchez Trace Writing Region which cover Maury County in Tennessee. All students in grades 7–12 are welcome to submit their work. Drs. Daniel and Tanya Scherr, both college professors, will be the committee co-chairs for this year’s program. It is SHAC’s hope to extend this program into other connecting counties in future years.

The Newark Public Library is excited for our first year administering the NJ Writing Region, as well as the Southern New Jersey Art Region. All teens in grades 7–12 who attend school in New Jersey are eligible to submit their writing. We are also accepting art from students in Ocean, Burlington, Camden, Atlantic, Cape May, Cumberland, Salem, and Gloucester counties. Read More

For more than a decade, Tulsa Community College (TCC) has been proud to be the Oklahoma Regional Affiliate for the Scholastic Art Awards for the entire state of Oklahoma. For the last three years, we have had more than 129 schools participating in the Scholastic Awards representing public, private, and home school students. There are 77 counties in Oklahoma. The state is also broken down into regions: Red Carpet Country, Green Country, Frontier Country, Choctaw Country, Chickasaw Country, and Great Plains Country.  All these regions are represented in the Scholastic Art & Writing competition.
