Did You Know?

Your contribution to the Alliance for Young Artists & Writers is more than just a number on a spreadsheet. Beyond the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, the Alliance puts donations to work producing programs to support creative students and their communities. From providing outstanding educators with professional development opportunities to spreading a love of literature through our National Student Poets’ community service projects, the Alliance seeks donations in support of the appreciation and development of creative talent nationwide.

How You Can Help

The Alliance could not do this work without the support of generous donors. To choose what good your gift does in the world, designate it to one of our three specialized funds:

The Annual Fund provides essential support for programs that amplify the voices of teens across the country. Proceeds from the Annual Fund underwrite the Art.Write.Now.Tour, the National Student Poets Program, residencies for recent Alumni, and much more.

The Scholarship Fund provides—often critical—financial support for students facing major decisions regarding their higher education and career paths. The Alliance awards nearly $300,000 in direct scholarships to top Awards recipients annually. Other scholarship opportunities include the Scholastic Awards Summer Scholarship program, which offers talented students with financial need placement at creative, pre-college summer programs all over the country.

The Educators Fund provides recognition, professional-development opportunities, and classroom materials to educators whose students excel in the Awards, especially those from under-resourced communities. Educators are the driving force behind the Awards as they work side-by-side with their students, helping them select and perfect their best work to submit.
